TYPE ONE

 เป็นการสมมติถึงเหตุการณ์ในปัจจุบันหรืออนาคต  
 แสดงเงื่อนไขที่น่าจะเป็นไปได้ (possible condition)
          If + Present Simple,  Future Simple
          (if-clause)            (main clause)
         S + V1 + O          ,   S + will + V1 + O    
                         
   If he goes to London , he will meet his old friend.                     
   If you work hard , you will pass the exam.

A.   If + Present Simple, + Present Simple
 ใช้กับความเป็นจริงที่เกิดขึ้นตามธรรมชาติ (natural laws) ทางด้านวิทยาศาสตร์  
หรือการกระทำที่เป็นนิสัยของแต่ละบุคคล (habitual actions) เช่น                         
       If water is heated , it boils.                    
       If ice is heated , it melts.               
       If a metal is heated , it expands.                 
      If it is fine , Jim usually walks to school.                
      If you hurt dogs , they bite you.                      
      If students don't study , they usually(sometimes, often,   generally) fail.
 ข้อความเหล่านี้ จะเป็นข้อความทั่วๆ ไป (general statements) ซึ่งเป็นความจริงเสมอ
 และเมื่อเหตุการณ์แรกเกิดขึ้น เหตุการณ์ที่สองจะเกิดขึ้นเสมอ
  ประโยคเงื่อนไขดังกล่าวนี้ เราสามารถใช้ when/whenever แทน if ได้  ซึ่งมีความหมายเหมือนกันทั้ง 2 คำ เช่น
    Whenever/When / If people are tired , they generally go to bed.                     
    Plants grow quickly when/whenever/if you water them.
    I sing if I am happy.                       
    If a woman has a children , she must look after them.                        
    I cannot understand you if you speak Chinese.                       
    If you have a cold , it is wise to go to bed.                    
    If you throw a stone into water , it sinks.

B.      If + Present Simple , Imperative
                S + V1 + O      ,    V1 + O + ...
 ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคต ถ้าเหตุการณ์แรกเกิดขึ้น    เหตุการณ์ที่สองจะเกิดขึ้นตามมาด้วย                          
       If you see him , tell him to phone me.                      
       Don't go outside the harbour if the wind is very strong.

C.   If + Present Simple,   Future Simple
             S + V1 + O      ,   S + will + V1 + O
  ใช้กับเหตุการณ์ที่จะเกิดขึ้นในอนาคตและเฉพาะกรณี (specific statement) 
 ซึ่งเหตุการณ์ที่สองจะเกิดขึ้นหรือไม่นั้นขึ้นอยู่กับเหตุการณ์แรก                              
            If George goes , he will get the medicine for you.                              
            If he comes , I will speak to him.
   การใช้ Conditional Sentences Type One อื่นๆ
   1. if.........not = unless (ถ้าไม่) ในประโยคปฏิเสธ เรามักใช้ unless แทน     
  มีรูปดังนี้
            Unless + Present Simple , S + will/shall + V1       
        
 a)  If there is no rain , the flowers will die.  = Unless there is some rain , the flowers will die.
 b) Peter will miss the bus if he doesn't run.  = Peter will miss the bus unless he runs.
 c) He doesn't walk to school if it isn't fine.   = He doesn't walk to school unless it is fine.
 d) I won't come if he doesn't call me.            = I won't come unless he calls me.
ข้อควรจำ    unless นั้นมีความหมายเป็นปฏิเสธ มาจาก if......not     เพราะฉะนั้นในประโยค
                   if-clause เมื่อใช้ unless แล้ว  กริยาในประโยคนั้นจะต้องเป็นรูปบอกเล่าเสมอ
