ทรอมโบน [Trombone]

ทรอมโบน คือ เครื่องลมทองเหลือง มีคันชักโค้งเป็นรูปตัวยู สำหรับเปลี่ยนความสั้นยาวของท่อลม

ตำแหน่งของการเลื่อนคันชักจะมีอยู่ทั้งหมด 7 ตำแหน่ง ให้ระดับเสียงดนตรีต่างกันออกไป ท่อลมกลวงทรงกระบอก

ปลายท่อบานออกเป็นลำโพง เป่าโดยใช้กำพวดเป็นรูปถ้วย

ทรอมโบนพัฒนามาจากแตรทรอมบา (Tromba) ซึ่งเป็นทรัมเป็ทขนาดใหญ่ตั้งแปลายศตวรรษที่ 14 กลุ้ค (Gluck)

คือ ผ็ทีนำทรอมโบนมาใช้ในวงออร์เคสตร้าเป็นคนปรกตามด้วย โมสาร์ท (Mozart) และ บีโธเฟ่น (Beethoven)

ตั้งแต่ศตวรรษที่ 19 เป็นต้นมา ทรอมโบน คือเครื่องดนตรีสำคัญชนิดหนึ่งสำหรับวง ออร์เคสตร้า

ทรอมโบนที่ใช้ในวงออร์เคสตร้ามี 4 ชนิด คือ

1) Tenor Trombone

2) Bass Trombone

3) Tenor-bass Trombone

4) Contra-Bass Trombone
