อาณาจักรย่อยอาร์เคียแบคทีเรีย (Subkingdom )

อาร์เคียแบคทีเรีย ผนังเซลล์ไม่มี เพปทิโดไกลแคน ดำรงชีวิตในแหล่งน้ำพุร้อน ทะเลที่มีน้ำเค็มจัด บริเวณที่มีความเป็นกรดสูง และบริเวณทะเลลึก แบ่งออกเป็น 2 กลุ่ม คือ 

 กลุ่มยูริอาร์เคียโอตา (Euryarchaeota) ซึ่งสร้างมีเทนและชอบความเค็มจัด เช่น
