The Faculty of Law, Chiang Mai University (CMU) would like to announce that we are now accepting applications for our ongoing LL.M. program which will begin in November 2015. This program was designed to provide the law students of Thailand, the ASEAN Community and Asia-at-large an opportunity to obtain an excellent legal education and to prepare the Master of Law student for the challenges of the 21st century.

The program consists of 2 alternative choices, either of which result in Chicago-Kent College of Law (CK) granting the LL.M. Degree which carries full international academic recognition and is equivalent to those that are available to all LL.M. students at Chicago-Kent College of Law.

The 4 Course Option consists of one semester at CMU with 4 courses equal to 10 credits, taught exclusively by CK professors, and one semester at CK for the remaining 14 credits. 24 credits are necessary to obtain the CK LL.M. degree.

The 2 Course Option consists of 2 preparatory courses at CMU, taught exclusively by CK professors, and two semesters at CK to earn the requisite 24 credits. The 2 Course Option was created in order to meet the requirement of certain legal career tracks in Thailand wherein the Thai law student may be required to spend a full academic year abroad to have their LL.M. degree recognized by the Thai authorities, as well as any other educational system with similar requirements.

The students who successfully complete the courses at CMU with a minimum GPA of 2.7 are thereafter eligible to apply for the LL.M. Program at CK in International and Transnational Law.
As a financial benefit to this program the fees at CMU are quite reasonable and CK offers an excellent choice of cost reduction prices for classes in the US. The 4 Course Option price is approximately 25,900 USD for one semester and the 2 Course Option price is approximately 31,900 USD for two semesters. Both programs are excluding room & board.
